Moustache Bash

Over the holidays we showered my daughter-in-love with moustaches and presents for baby Logan. It was a "mustache bash".....and a fine one I must say.

Lindsay baked some marvelous chocolate cake pops!

Oh.....boy.....presents!

The "wet your whiskers" station.....

Choice of pops, cake, cupcakes.....

Hannah, Lindsay, Mandi, and Carly pose with the staches and bow ties....

Friends and relatives came to welcome Logan.....

You'll love this tip.....above we took a glass vase and covered it with moustache duck tape purchased at Hobby Lobby. It you match the pattern, it looks better.....

At the sign in table we had photos on display.......

Sperry's were popular......

We look forward to meeting Logan next month....if not sooner....
Happy Labor Day, Mandi!

Valentines Day Wreath

It's time to decorate for V-Day! Today's picture tutorial is on bow-making and decorating a wreath. I purchased the supplies in the clearance section at Hob Lob after Christmas. I knew I wanted a white wreath and pink accents this year to change it up a bit.

To get started choose your wreath and ribbon. Follow the pictures to make a bow:

I use a wire with the paper removed(garbage tie)

For the embellishments I chose a package of KC & Co Vintage Valentines. I distressed the edges with antique linen stain from T!M Holtz and attached to a tag from raspberry cardstock.

I also used black yarn for the tags, a white doily, small flowers and assorted buttons and doo-dads....

On our front door.....

I like the swans in the lake....since swans are all over Lakeland....sort of our mascot

I decoupaged the tags and the vintage valentines

On our white wall with a tad more light....

It did not film as well as it looks in person.....Does that mean I need a new camera...
Or does the operator need more photography lessons....?????

Happy V-day to you! Are you making something special for Valentines?

Now leave me a comment so I know you stopped by......

Alaska, Red Dog Saloon

Happy New Year Everyone! Do you have your Christmas put away? My tree is still up....it's on the list of chores that will eventually be accomplished.
Have you made any list for the New Year? Since Alaska is usually on someone's list, I thought I would share a nugget from Juneau.  The Red Dog Saloon originated during the busy gold mining days and provided drink and entertainment for locals and travelers.

The menu and prices have changed somewhat, but you can dine for under $20 which is an accomplishment in this expensive state!
The floor is still sawdust so it's okay to spit if you so desire.

Our server was from Clearwater, Florida......small world.

The real attraction is the gun that was checked, but never claimed by the infamous Wyatt Earp

Imagine, a gun slinger in these here parts.....
By the way, the whale watching and salmon bake was the best part of the entire trip!

So if you go.....don't miss Juneau!

Brown Family Christmas Party

Merry Christmas Everybody.....this year's Brown Party Brunch was hosted by the Glen Brown bunch. They are the only ones with enough grandchildren do perform the manger scene complete with baby Jesus....Jason shared a book he had printed of an interview with his grandfather. It was very special. Missing my dad, of course, this year I at least made it completely through the party without tears. Let's visit Christmas past....just a few pictures that are handy...
Above: Aunt Sabrina reads a story to the children.

We really missed Aunt Loreli this year. She went home to be with the LORD spring break.

Uncle Coot also had a complete healing in heaven.

The Glen Brown family out numbers all of us put together....I think! They hosted a wonderful party.

We were blessed to have both our married children and spouses this year!

Sam, Michelle, Olivia and Travis
Aunt Jacque and her two sons.....daughter is on a trip!

Aunt Sabrina's family and her caregiver..."mob of Halls"

Uncle Clyde's family

This photo from long ago is one of my favorites...Aunt Sabrina and her brothers
Glen, Pete and Coot. (I am guessing Clyde was in Palatka)

Enjoy your holidays this year and hug your loved ones!
