Valentines Decoration

So...many folks are decorating for Valentines Day....so I wanted to get in on the links next Friday....started surfin' the blogs...got lost....why don't I remember to carry and pad and pen and WRITE DOWN where I am and what the inspirations are??? Part of blog etiquette is to give credit where credit is due...so I know I'm asking for it...but I can't remember where I down loaded these cute freebies...I know I left a comment on one thanking them for it...anyway...
The "to my love" girl in the clown suit with heart came from the Graphics Fairy....I highly recommend following Karen...her resources are priceless....

The Graphics Fairy

These post cards came from antique stores and flea markets I visit in Florida....

This is a cute tag I made today for a tag exchange....used Tim Holtz die cut....added Creative Memories hearts from the Valentine punch....larger tags made with the Cricut machine....George and Basic shapes...

Dismantled the Pottery Barn Knockoff Bulletin Board that was decorated for Christmas...

Then added above mentioned downloads, tags, post cards and date 2/14/2011....
a key...and heart...from my stampin' up rep....
add the date.....a heart and the bow.....

It needs a large red bow at the top....but at least it's a start....

These clay figures where made a few years back when I was into baking Fimo...

My idea of a great VD is to order take home so you don't have to wait hours for a table...grill steak at home and obtain a Panera fugi apple chicken salad or MiMi's walnut chicken salad..&
chocolate....got to have some chocolate for dessert....the choc.cream cheese torte from Deli Delicacies Bakery would run around $25 for a baby cake....but quite a memory....order ahead....

I'm thinking of taking my  board to my school to share....Do you think the middle schoolers would appreciate this? Of course it would be behind a LOCKED glass cabinet!

Happy Valentines!

Barbwire Wreath

Recipe: One barbwire wreath....leftover wire from the pasture will do as long as it is rusted...

add on any theme/toys....search the garage for western stuff.....

all that searching.....for what? Woody, rope, an old toy gun, hat, badge.....
wire selected pieces to the barbwire using any wire on hand...I had green 22 gauge that is easy to handle...
I think it needs a bow????
Close up it just needs more balancing.....back to the garage??/
It needs a feminine touch....Did he have a girlfriend? What was her name? Perhaps I need to shop on ebay??
ok....so be nice.....leave me a comment or two........Ya'll stop back by.......

Salad recipe

Happy January! It was a 70* day in sunny Florida. I decided to link up with a blog that is sharing recipes today.....salads as a matter of fact so here is one of my favorites from "A Taste Of Victory" our church book that was published years ago.

The ingredients: 1 can sweetened condensed milk
                         1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
                         1 can re pitted cherries(drained)
                         1 12oz. container Cool Whip
                          1 cup chopped pecans
                         1/4 cup lemon juice
Combine the first three ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Add remaining ingredients to first mixture next day before serving. Garnish with extra nuts.

I made this tonight,, but did not refrigerate it. It was not bad, just not as cold as I like it. Ya'll enjoy!

I forgot to place the cool whip in the first picture of the ingredients.....

I like to strain the cherries. How do you like my new strainer???

Don't you just love new kitchen gadgets?

I served it as dessert in a footed glass sherbert dish. It makes it taste better. I have a friend, Ruth that makes this each year. She adds red food coloring to make it pink.....Ya'll come back now and then....

Linking up/blogging lessons

Wow...what a weekend I've had learning more about the blog! Amy @ Whisper Wood Cottage took time to answer my email regarding how to grab a button to link up at a party. I appreciate the time she spent to list the 15 steps in simple form for me to be able to make this happen. Now, over at the blackeye-pea-crate blog you can click on the button at the bottom and see other blogs listed. It is such fun to see what everyone else is doing, and learn a new craft!  I need to go to blogging school....now there's a need for ya! Thanks again for the patient folks that are willing to help us newbies!  So this was her directions! I even followed the procedure to cut and paste her email here...just in case other newbies....that were not raised with a computer( we were raised with hula hoops and Barbie dolls...) need some help and directions...Thanks again for the tip!

No problem! I'll do my best to walk you through it.

1. Go to my blog (http://whisperwoodcottage.com/). On the sidebar, you will see the party button. Next to the button is the "html code box." HTML is the language that allows computers and the web to communicate with each other.
2. Select/highlight all the text in the html code box.
3. Hold down the control key and hit the letter C. This will copy the text.
4. Go to your Blogger Dashboard
5. Click on "edit posts."
6. Find the post that you linked up to the party. Click edit next to the name of that post.
7. That will open up a new page in which you will see your post and be able to edit it. At the top of the window where your post content is located, you will see two tabs: a "compose" tab and an "edit HTML" tab. Click on the "edit HTML" tab.
8. Now you will see a bunch of letters, numbers, etc. This is the HTML code that tells the web how you want your post to look. Scroll all the way to the bottom of that text window.
9. Place the cursor at the very bottom below all other text.
10. Hold down the control key and hit the letter V. This will paste the HTML text that you copied from my blog.
11. Now click on the "compose" tab.
12. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the post. You should see the button there.
13. Above the button, type "Linked up to:"
14. When it looks like you want it, click on the Publish Post button.
15. Go to your blog and your post should be changed.

Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if you have further questions!

Thanks again Amy for sharing your expertise with us!

blackeye pea crate

Don't get nervous folks.....this is just a before picture.....keep reading....

For the unusual look....I decided( inspired by Funky Junk blog) to create my own sign in anticipation of our up and coming  spring trip to Paris...I am so excited....this crate has been on the burn pile since last spring. 3 of the 4 sides were salvageable....after taking it apart and using the main top and back of the crate....I straightened out the wire with my husband's thing-a-ma-bob....sanded it lightly, transferred some images using the pencil method....and used a black and brown sharpie to add the images and words. I found the Parisian Christmas Card at Barnes and Nobles in Daytona. The Vacation/Escape/Adventure tape is Tim Holtz from Michaels. The music paper was given to me by my sister...distressed w/Tim Holtz distress ink (antique linen and scattered straw)....the Celebrate sticker that was added to the  music paper was cut from the cricut....Small paper w/Eiffel Tower  stamp is Journey to France stamp set by Tweetyjill. I plan to hang it in my office to display photos/memorabilia from our trip. Happy 3 day weekend! I love being off for any holiday! Thanks to Martin Luther King!

I had cropped these in Picasso....but I noticed they transferred in the original form...not sure what is up with that....not very tech savvy... I'll try to redo some more close up pics......My local farmer said he would refund me $1 on my next  bushel of blackeye peas...if I would return the crate...but I think it is definitely worth more than a dollar now????

Linking up with Funky Junk Interiors.....visit her blog....it is truly inspirational!

Finally added to my wall in the office.....large Paris poster from Hobby Lobby. Small poster with airplane from a Disney source that will be altered another day......

Puppy Update

Puppy Update: These cuties are doing well....hopefully will be adopted somewhere around Feb. 12.....Valentine pups! 2 females on hold and the brown male is up for grabs. Email me @Lyndalhcropshop@gmail.com if you are in the Lakeland area and interested....Dixie has recovered and is a great mother....tending her pups here she was confused as to why I removed them from the cage and placed them in the dead grass.....Happy New Year!

Hey there! The pups are growing! We have a fire going tonight..... trying to stay warm in this 40*weather....so I thought I would take the pups out of the cage and place them in a basket near the fire....Dixie almost had a heart attack.....she and Nelson(Dad) were both very nervous about this sudden change....so I snapped a few pics really fast! Don't you love the yawn???? The 2 black females look like they stepped in white paint. They have a small amt of white on the chest and chin... The brown male is so pudgy and so very cute! Any break from putting away Christmas decorations is a wonderful distraction! I love the decorating...but cleaning up afterward is not my cup of tea!
